As the day passed, the time was approaching to get my results; I anxiously awaited my results. I could not keep my mind away from my results, even momentarily, despite trying to keep my mind off the problem. But my mind was fixed on the same. I kept tossing and turning as if I were doubting myself. My mother was observing me for a very long time. She came to me and asked when you are in self-doubt, that time you think about the positive moments; it will distract you from the anxiety you are having. I immediately followed my mother’s advice; my restlessness disappeared right away.

Affirmations serve as self-talk and involve providing oneself with positive messages. Encouraging and motivational statements from parents, grandparents, teachers, or oneself are examples of claims. My mother once told me to "believe in myself," which immediately eased my exam-related stress. Believing in oneself eliminates the need for validation from others. Similarly, when a teacher acknowledges one's achievement in front of the class, it can dispel self-doubt about one's abilities.

Affirmations are a form of self-talk that instills a message of validation and self-love. When the brain receives the positive message of self-love, it impacts our emotional self-being and provides motivation and encouragement to manage stress and anxiety.
